Restoring the Bridge conference: 20th - 22nd November 2009
28 Sept 2009
A prophetic prayer conference exploring the rich spiritual heritage which the Channel Islands and France share.
To be held at St Andrew's Church, St Helier, Jersey - starting Friday at 7.30pm
Jersey in the Channel Islands has been described prophetically in French ‘a plaque tournant' - ‘a hub' - a kind of spiritual stepping-stone between the UK and France. Celtic saints like Helier and Samson first brought the gospel to these shores. For a time Roman Catholicism held sway. Then after the Reformation there was an upsurge of French Protestant spirituality. When the tide of persecution turned against the protestant Huguenots in France many escaped to the Channel Islands a refugees. If spiritual life and blessing is to flow more readily, we need to ‘restore the bridge' of understanding and relationship between us.
During the conference we will be praying, seeking God, learning from history, looking at prophecy and finding out what we English speakers and our French brothers and sisters have in common, and where reconciliation is needed so that we can enjoy and pass on our common heritage.
Our speakers will be Nadine Roure, and Elvire Dieny - both French Huguenots - and Anne Griffiths from Gateshead, who has an anointed teaching and prophetic gift much used in France.
Bill and Jan Gordon, who have been ministering in France for many years will also be taking part.
The conference is free, and all are welcome.
