Neighbourhood Prayer Network
Bringing prayer to our neighbours, bringing community back to our streets.
On the 26th March 2011, we presented the idea of ‘Neighbourhood Prayer Network' to over one hundred delegates, brought together by the ‘Order of St Leonard' for a prayer conference. Hosted in Renewal Christian Centre, Solihull, West Midlands, there were church leaders and activists from all over the country.
We presented testimonies of people praying for their neighbours. One of these, Gemma's story, highlights how prayer can change lives! About seven years ago she moved into a new area at a difficult time in her life. Without Gemma knowing, some neighbours living on her street chose to pray for her in their home group. As they befriended Gemma and prayed for her, she became more interested in Christianity, and then decided to become a Christian. It was only later that she discovered the prayers of her neighbours. Several years on, her life has been completely transformed. Gemma is convinced it is prayer that changed everything! You can read more about this testimony on our website www.neighbourhoodprayer.net
Is there someone on your street who desperately needs your prayers?
Chris Bowater who attended the launch told us we could use one of his songs ‘Teach us how to pray' from the album ‘Crown of beauty' to help us promote ‘Neighbourhood Prayer Network.' We are grateful for his endorsement of the project and his ongoing support. This is a beautiful song!
Encouraging for us is the new interest every week. Please consider whether YOU could join us praying for YOUR street. Contact us via the website www.neighbourhoodprayer.net or email rebekah.brettle@gmail.com
